Excellent place!!!!!. Very tasty food if you are looking for real authentic Vietnamese.
We ate here 3 times during our 6 days vacation. Can’t get enough of this place. Definitely will visit again if we come back visiting Honolulu.
The owner is a real nice lady!
Good food, yes, with my bowl of sweet-and-sour catfish soup being filling and flavourful, though a bit too sweet for my taste. I loved the young taro stems that comprised part of the vegetable mixture. My dining companion got a beef stirfry, and enjoyed it very much.
Pleasant service, very casual atmosphere. Lots of seating.
Embark on a culinary journey and savor the epitome of flavor at this hidden gem, boasting the best Pho in town! The friendly service goes beyond expectation, characterized by genuine attentiveness that enhances the overall dining experience. As you step into the cozy space, you'll be met with the aromatic allure of authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Despite its compact size, the venue cleverly accommodates large groups, providing an intimate yet communal setting. The cool breeze of air conditioning adds to the comfort, creating an oasis for indulging in the delectable offerings. From the moment you're seated, the quick and efficient service ensures that your orders arrive promptly, steaming hot, and bursting with deliciousness. A symphony of flavors, coupled with a welcoming ambiance, makes this spot not just a dining destination, but a culinary haven worth revisiting for an unparalleled Pho experience.
It's been a while since I had great vietnamese food this place definitely hit the spot.
The only thing I would say is this place is a tad bit more expensive then the usual norm.
Catfish braised stew was so good literally best I've had in a while. Would 100% order again. It wasn't too salty or sweet and had a nice depth of flavor. Fish was tender also like how it should be.
Catfish Sour Soup was very good. Kind of wish it was more sour for my taste but the Pineapple added in the dish makes it a bit sweeter which is perfectly fine and still delicious.
Beef and Lemon Salad was a nice appetizer to start out with. Very refreshing and the beef wasn't overcooked and the sauce was just right.
The Durian Milkshake had real durian in it and the Pandan Drink was very good 5 stars on the drinks
Downside of these dishes
But Bo Hue just tasted like spicy noodle soup. Doesn't really have that bun Bo Hue taste if you know what I mean. Wouldn't order again.
Next the Spring Roll for $12 was not worth the price. Tasted like average spring rolls and the peanut sauce on the side was average
But I would definitely recommend the dishes I spoke well of in this review you won't be disappointed.
The prices have gone up over the years but every time we go for pho we always “super” enjoy it. I haven’t found many places that offer vegetarian broth so this is also A big plus. Love their food!!
Okay food, but pretty pricey which is par for the course in Hawaii. Still, I wouldn’t go out of my way to dine here. They have seating inside but I’d advise against sitting at the booth they made out of pallets that’s out front on the curb. They often have homeless individuals sleeping in there with their feet on the table and the area smells of urine.
The portion of the food was big. We ordered the pork rice and pho with rare steak and beef balls. Food came in very fresh. Although the waiting time is a bit long, the service was suprr friendly and helpful.
I took flights more than 14 hours to Hawaii and came to this restaurant for my first meal in Hawaii for this trip. My friend took me here cuz it is good review for Vietnamese food. We arrive there at 6:15 pm and get a table right away. BUT: we were waiting almost an hour to get our first food (steamed clam with lemongrass). 15 mins later we got our second food (porridge). After that, I had to walk to the reception to ask for my food (crab udon)upon. The total times I spent there almost 1h45 mins which wasted alot of my time. The food is ok though. During waiting, the waiter has offered any snack food to eat while waiting our main food. He offered biscuits or BBQ sandwich. We chosed the second option and thought it is on the house. But it was charged in the bill. The excuse for the long waiting our food is so many togo orders which is unacceptable. Dine in should be priority first. It was my first time waiting 1 hour to get normal VNM foods. Disappointed!!!
P/s: the crab udon broth (banh canh cua) want legit either. How can u use bun rieu broth for crab udon. I know it because the broth is for bun rieu and it has tomato in the broth. No VNM put tomato into banh canh!
